Founding Executive Opportunity

We're Looking for Our Founding Chief Medical Officer

Satori Bio is building clinical infrastructure alongside brain biomarker development, starting with treatment-resistant depression in interventional psychiatry clinics. We are looking for a practicing psychiatrist who can help shape the clinic network, collection workflows, and evidence strategy.

Our initial commercial focus is research study delivery through shared clinic infrastructure. We are planning our first observational study to test collection quality, workflow fit, and delivery economics. Longer term, we intend to use the same network to develop and deliver validated biomarkers for treatment guidance and monitoring.

This is an unusual opportunity to become part of the founding team and help build the clinical foundation of Satori from the beginning.

We believe the next generation of psychiatric care will require more than better algorithms. It will require workflows that clinicians trust, evidence that researchers respect, and products that fit naturally into everyday practice.

Who We're Looking For

We're Looking for a Builder

We are not looking for a traditional medical affairs executive or a passive advisor. We are looking for a physician who wants to work closely with the founding team and help build Satori. The relationship may begin through active advising and naturally grow into a founding executive role.

We are looking for a psychiatrist who enjoys creating new clinical programs, designing better workflows, introducing new technology into practice, and solving difficult clinical problems alongside engineers and scientists.

The strongest candidate may not be the person with the longest publication list. It may be the person who has built a TMS program, launched a new service line, redesigned a care pathway, implemented a new clinical technology, or repeatedly found better ways to make medicine work.

Candidate profile

  • Board-certified psychiatrist who remains active in clinical practice
  • Deep understanding of treatment-resistant depression and interventional psychiatry
  • Familiarity with TMS, ketamine, esketamine, and/or related treatments
  • Experience participating in or leading clinical research
  • Strong understanding of psychiatric clinic operations and patient workflows
  • Comfortable working with physicians, technicians, coordinators, and office staff
  • Able to contribute to study design, protocol development, and IRB strategy
  • Interested in improving clinical systems and care delivery
  • Comfortable working across clinical care, research, evidence, product, and engineering
  • Builder mindset with a desire to help create something new
  • Interested in beginning fractionally and potentially growing into a full-time founding executive role

The Work

What You'll Actually Help Do

Visit and learn from clinics

Learn from interventional psychiatry clinics and academic and commercial researchers about study requirements, patient workflows, and the clinical information their research needs.

Design the clinical workflow

Design workable clinic collection and follow-up processes, including how repeated EEG, symptoms, treatment context, and outcomes can be gathered during care.

Establish study requirements

Work with investigators and the technical team to establish data-quality and study-execution requirements, from recording quality checks to structured study datasets.

Build the evidence plan

Help plan Satori's first observational study across multiple clinics and treatment pathways, testing collection workflows, data quality, follow-up, and the complete data service. Contribute to protocol development and IRB strategy.

Recruit clinical partners

Help identify and engage interventional psychiatry clinics, community psychiatrists, academic collaborators, investigators, and other clinical leaders for potential research collaborations.

Shape future clinical applications

Identify clinical decisions worth pursuing with future biomarkers for treatment selection and monitoring. Help define the evidence and applicable authorization each application would need, and communicate the clinical vision.

Questions We Need to Solve

The Questions We Want to Work Through Together

  • How can repeated EEG and clinical context be collected reliably during care?
  • What study questions and collection requirements matter most to researchers?
  • How should recording quality, missing information, and follow-up be evaluated?
  • Which future treatment-selection and monitoring decisions are worth pursuing?
  • How can this fit naturally into a busy psychiatric clinic?
  • How can this fit naturally into the work of physicians, technicians, coordinators, and office staff?
  • How do we generate evidence that researchers, clinicians, and clinic owners all trust?
  • What evidence and applicable authorization would each future clinical application require?

The First Year

What We Hope to Build Together

In the first year, we expect the Founding CMO to help us:

  • design workable clinic collection and follow-up workflows for longitudinal TRD research
  • establish two to three clinical design partners
  • design and launch Satori's first observational study
  • establish data-quality requirements and an evidence strategy for future clinical applications
  • learn from researchers and identify clinical decisions worth pursuing with future biomarkers
  • establish Satori's medical and clinical foundation

Success will be measured by workable clinic processes, reliable study data, and a clear evidence strategy for future clinical applications.

How We'll Start

Start with a Conversation

We are not beginning with a conventional application process.

We want to meet psychiatrists who are excited by this problem, learn how they think, and explore whether there is a strong foundation for building together.

The role is expected to begin fractionally at approximately 5-10 hours per week, with the potential to become a full-time founding executive role as Satori grows.
